The Jasovich Group has a proven track record in the clinical research field in Argentina. Dr. Abel Jasovich- our Director-started his activity as Clinical Trial Investigator in 1975, and later became its main investigator.
The activities of the Jasovich Group in this field are well known by local and international regulatory organizations (ANMAT- Argentina; FDA – US) and have been supervised by some of the sponsor companies through quality assurance programs.
Our clinical teaching and research activities have been developed in public as well as private hospitals, such as: Hospital Posadas, Sanatorio Güemes, Hospital Naval, Sanatorio Antártida, Instituto Dupuytren, Hospital Bocalandro, Hospital Carrillo, Hospital Héroes de Malvinas and Hospital Municipal Nuestra Señora de Luján.
Jasovich Group’s strong commitment to medical quality, evidenced over time, has resulted in a high level of confidence in our results as well as a steady growth in our involvement in clinical trials and the number of patients enrolled.
Such growth has been driven by an increasingly solid and more complex organization, with a current 33-member staff, which includes medical doctors, pharmacists, microbiologists, research nurses, and administrative personnel. Each member of the Group works full-time and is involved in clinical research activities.
Many pharmaceutical companies and CROs have signed contracts with the Jasovich Group, such as: Abbott, Bagó, Basilea, Bayer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Covance, Chiron, Hoechst Marion Roussel (Aventis), ICON, Janssen-Cilag, Johnson & Johnson, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Parexel, Peninsula, Pharmacia & Upjohn (Pharmacia), Pfizer, PPD, PRA, Quintiles, Triangle Pharmaceuticals and Wyeth.
During 2005 Jasovich Group extended its activities, not only throughout Argentina but to other specialties besides infectious diseases.
At present, Jasovich Group has a “strategic integration” with research sites located in two of the main cities in Argentina: five sites in the city of Mendoza and one in Rosario. This means a huge access to patient populations. Under the same scheme, it has been added an ambulatory care center for Diabetic patients, located in Buenos Aires city.
Each of these medical institutions is a clinical research unit itself, with its own active IRB, experienced investigators, study coordinators as well as research personnel.
Jasovich Group is in charge of the site’s training & quality control, organization, marketing, and financial support.
At present, Jasovich Grupo carries out research activities in 12 medical care institutions (11 for inpatients and one for ambulatory patients only).
Besides Infectious Diseases, the Jasovich Group develops its research activities in Diabetology, Rheumatology, Oncology, Pneumonolgy and Paediatrics.
The Group, with its intense clinical activity, its participation in national and international congresses, its numerous medical publications, and its work in university pre- and post graduate teaching, has achieved a prominent place in the Latin American Infectious Diseases field.
